AIS Educator JournalOur Mission is to disseminate research that will benefit AIS education. The AIS Educator Journal is an electronic journal (e-journal) providing authors with the ability for articles to be accompanied with code and real-time demonstrations. The e-journal will permit new and different forms of expression, such as having readers actively involved in doing a task and actually participating in the published piece. It will also allow for the easy creation of archives that can be indexed and searched with a Google engine. This format is less costly and time consuming than traditional paper-based journals, and accepted papers can be published on-demand, without the normal delays. See Journal Brochure. Types of papers to submit for peer-review include, but are not limited to: Research about AIS education methods from a variety of perspectives (for example, classroom or laboratory experiments) AIS educational cases Tutorials and demonstrations of useful new applications, software, or tools Research presenting the importance of content that might be integrated into AIS courses AIS basic research that has potential for being disseminated in an accounting classroom (AIS, auditing, managerial, financial, taxation, etc.) Contributions and discussions relating to the science of accounting informatics.
Such papers should follow these style guidelines. The AIS Educator Association was formed in 1999 and has over 300 members. Membership is concentrated in the U.S., but includes faculty from Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, and other international locations. All types and sizes of accounting programs are represented, from the large state-supported research-oriented schools with dedicated AIS programs to smaller liberal-arts and business colleges. The Association’s mission is to develop the practical skills of AIS educators. Its focus includes introductory AIS, advanced AIS, technology, networking, and information security courses taught to accounting, auditing, tax, and accounting information systems students.
